Jeroen Koot new CEO of CEG

Roll out of patented torrefaction technology for biomass

Summary

Jeroen Koot has been appointed as the new CEO of Clean Electricity Generation (CEG) as per 1 May 2018 focused on the strategic expansion of the company. Erik Huis will continue to be involved as partner and asset manager of the major shareholder Momentum Capital. Koot has extensive experience as a managing director at medium-sized and large companies, most recently a restructuring and successful sale of BioMCN to strategic partners for private equity company Waterland.

CEG is going to roll out its technology worldwide in partnership with Fluor/Stork, among others. Torrefied biomass, or biocoal, is a solution in which existing infrastructure can be used with sustainable biofuel without major investments. Biocoal production is currently taking place in Derby, United Kingdom. The construction of the next plant for Baltania OÜ with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes. in Estonia will start this year.
